Buying big-ticket items during your divorce is a big mistake. I explain why.

If you re considering a new car, buying a new home or anything else that requires a substantial investment I urge you to reconsider.

I understand how tempting it can be to want to start buying things for yourself but the problem is that during divorce what you buy will not be considered your own in the eyes of the law.

Whatever you buy is still considered as shared with your Ex until your divorce has been finalised and formalised legally.

This also related to any gifts or inheritance that may occur during your divorce. Try and hold off the transaction until all is settled!
